The BC122 switching charger is a high-efficiency (fanless) battery charger for lead-acid, gel, lithium, and AGM batteries.

Batteries must have a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity adequate for the charger's current (check the maximum charging current compatibility with the battery datasheet for the battery you intend to connect). The BC122 also functions as a power supply.

If a battery is present and it is powered by mains voltage, the BC122 functions as a battery charger (if the lithium battery algorithm has been selected, the BC122 functions as a battery charger even if it does not detect the battery upon power-up).

The dip switch allows you to select the charging algorithm based on the battery type. When powered up, the green LED flashes to indicate which charging algorithm has been selected using the dip switches.

The charger uses a combination of Constant Current and Constant Voltage charging, which significantly reduces charging time and prevents damage to the batteries even when the charger is permanently connected to the 230V mains.

When a load is connected, the battery charger immediately supplies the necessary current, preventing the battery from discharging (this is true if the load current is less than the maximum current supplied by the battery charger; otherwise, the battery will still discharge with a current equal to the difference: (ILOAD - ICHARGE BATTERY). A temperature probe can be connected to the battery charger (to be placed on the battery) to adapt the selected charging algorithm to the battery temperature.
